Yet another entry in our ever expanding "In Action!" series. This volume concentrates on the work of one of the best British TV & Film composers. Although he has scored countless movies and had massive success with his London Big Band it is probably his television themes that he will be remebered for most fondly. From the great "West End" used as the theme to the documentary travel series Whicker's World, right up to the almost perfect action scoring of The Professionals. This collection will hopefully be a little different from those already released by various labels. Sit back and let Laurie "The Professional" do his thing!

BOTH parts are needed to unpack the album.
Enjoy!
Hi, Mr. thxjay, greetings from Germany, really love your Blog, been watching it for a year or so. Normally I'm only interested in original records, not compilations made up nowerdays, because I rather like to put them together by myself. But for me your compilations are an original in itself, mostly because of that great cover art. Goon with your wonderful work for all of us CL-Fans !!!
Thanks for your kind words Mr Anonymous :)
Glad you like my compilations.
THank you great great comps thank you !!!
Wooow I’ve been cry my heart out over some of these collections. It’s with happiness and joy in my heart I see your taste in mixing this together. I specially like the master series It’s good taste to choose Syd Dale, Tony Hatch, Laurie before Hawkshaw and Mansfield. Get me right these guys are groovy but there are some cooler dudes outthere om KPM, Dewolfe, and so on. And Syd Dale and Laurie are deserve to step out of the shadow so people can see how great these are.
Can I ask for a master record of Johnny P. That would also be magic……I guess I be hanging around here for a long time. Have reg me to the forum to see if something good is going to happen.
Oooh I just forgot to say super thanx for these records and for a totally awesome site. So keep on give the world love and joy with your good taste and work.
Luv it

Thanks for the encouragement henofj :)
I hope to keep adding to this series over time (whenever I get the chance) so will hopefully include Mr Pearson at some point :)
I'm glad you're enjoying the set and please keep on visiting in future. Hopefully the Spy Forum will start to come alive eventually :)
Thanks again!
Jay
Love this blog!!!
I only recently discovered the whole blog world and other similar minded people who like the same style of 60/70's crime/thriller/suspense/dramatic, edgy funky breakbeat rhythms and underscores/links as I do and have now found other composers and labels through recommendations and d/l's - its great to get an album from an unheard of artist and/or label and hear some fine original dope shit!!!
Nothing better!!!
Anyway, fantastic site! Keep up the great work! RESPECT!
On this tip of sharing - I have a number of KPM, dewolfe, bruton and chappell albums amongst other funk/soul/jazz artists that I'm more than happy to share with anyone interested in return for other library albums I haven't heard as yet that I'm searching especially for the KPM 1000 series (or any music of similar style and arrangements) and all 60/70's library music with dramatic beats, basslines, links, brass and serious dope wah-wah/funky/fuzz guitar sections etc etc etc.
If you feel you could help educate and inform then please drop me a line to james_av_engineer@yahoo.co.uk
Many thanks,
Jimbo.
Sadly the link is dead. Any chance for a re-up?
