my one complaint here would be having to download the artwork from rapidshare. yer killing me.
The only reason I put the artwork as a seperate download for my own comps was because I didn't put the cd case booklet in with the original files, sorry, from now on all my comps will include art.
Jay
Ditto on the artwork comment. But you swing, baby, YOU SWING!
veeberd,
Thanks for the feedback.
The artwork is seperate for volumes 2,3,4, & 5, because these aren't my mixes and are links to Licorice's posts of his work. I only did the covers for those volumes, that's why they're not in the music files.
Glad you like 'em
Hi -
I really enjoyed this compilation - especially the themes by Hugo Montenegro. This mix had a really nice balance of the Jazzy, Serious, and Spoof themes - please continue crafing these mixes together. Plus the cover artwork was killer - perfect image! XD
Dolores
Thanks Dolores,
If you like my other collection "The Sound Department", I'm just starting a second one. Again based on British TV themes.
For all those in the far flung reaches of the blogosphere, you may not be too familiar with the titles ot tune but hopefully you like the "music".
Thanks for the feedback
Jay
I think I may have mentioned this in another comment area, but I've enjoyed your blog so much, and you have SUCH great material, I actually bought a RapidShare membership just to be able to get all the CrimeJazz goodness without delay!
Many thanks for all your work.
Thanks Ted,
I'm glad you feel it was worth it, I'm honoured.
I always kep a premium account myself for downloading from others, it's not as if it costs that much and you do get a lot of music for your money.
Thanks
Jay
Downloaded this thing and now I can't get that Naked City Theme (Riddle version) outta my head!
Great, thanks.
Hey Changloograce,
It's one of my personal favourites too, Nelson is one cool swingin' cat.
hi ted, this is a fantastic compilation. yeah. and there are 13 more ;).
i feel i should repay the kindness, but sofar i have not posted any jazzy crime stuff. on my list next week is a cool record called "the bedside bond" release by penthouse magazine in 1966. the sound quality is excellent, so if you don't have it yet, even though i'm sure you do, it will be at:
http://subway-detour.blogspot.com/
in the meantime, these can be downloaded if you're interested:
hugo montenegro - neil's diamonds (1973)

thanks THXjay, i aim to share ;). btw, i'm having to deal with the sound cleaning dilemma, and the quality of your compilations are great. can you tell me what you use, or would you then have to kill me?
Hey Detour,
Just dropped by your site (and downloaded everything) and will be a regular from now on. You obviously have a mighty fine collection :)
As to the quality of my comps, well most of them are (please don't hate me) from CD which is why they sound great.
Others in the collection (mainly the "In Action" volumes are from various sources as these can't be found on CD.
The five "Music To Spy By" volumes are by fellow blogger Licorice Pizza and will no doubt all be taken from his vinyl archive :)
I'm ashamed to say I haven't gotton into the noise removal software yet but I hope to get something sorted soon once my vinyl ripping gear is all sorted out :)
Thanks again for the kind words and I'll see you over at your place :)

HH,
It's wonderful to hear from people all over the world :)
Don't worry about your English I'm sure it's a lot better than my Spanish :)
Thankyou for the nice comments and please keep visiting :)
Jay
THXjay, man, I'm really speechless. Your place is amazing. But you already know that. This is just to say thanks a lot for this fantastic compilation. I love all the others, but this volume is special for me, 'cause theres the It Takes a Thief theme, a show that I enjoyed the most in my childhood/teen years. Also, I love the comps done by Licorice, and I understand the explanation for the one big file thing, but I really love to have the option to download the version with separated tracks. Tried the burnnn thing, but it doesn't work for me. Anyway, thanks a lot for all your efforts. Peace & respect.
Thanks for the great compliment Yerblues!
It's all worthwhile when you get feedback like yours :)
Licorice has stopped using the continuous style on his latest MTSB comps as he was getting too many "would rather have them seperated!" comments!
It's a shame after all the hard work he put in to create them :(
But thanks again for the kind words, keep coming back in future :)
Thank you for your efforts which show just the right taste and style needed for these cool tunes. Simply delicious!
Low-Flying Finn
what an amazing collection!!!
i just started to downloaded crime jazz volume 1 and when trying to expand the rar-file a password is required. any suggestions how to solve this?
thank you so much
Link For the album is broken...
Do you intend to re-up?
I really like your compilations!
Thanks,
Zbeng
Yes, the link don't work... what a pity for this beautiful compilation!!!!
Please, reup!
The link is still good. I think Rapidshare have a few problems at the moment!
Try it again later :)
If the link was dead you wouldn't get to the download page.
I always thought the Arthur Fiedler, Boston Pops Orchestra version, was the best "Man From Uncle" theme (Jerry Goldsmith). It was used as a compilation with other themes, as I recall.
Gil
Cue file added to download
Sorry it was missing from the original link.
Cue file HERE
What gives? The download link points to volume 2!
Thanks for letting me know. You're the only one to notice :)
Now Fixed!
Beautiful Music! Now I feel like I must meet a stranger in a dark alley and exchange some envelope with classified documents..... or a thumb drive filled with the most awesomest sounding spy tunes!
Many Thanks from SoCal!
Thanks for a great site and wonderful compilations!
Thanks for the nice comment Goofy :)
what fun compilation thanks for the effort of posting this fantastic tunes
Wonderful compilation. Thx a lot.
Good work, as always.
As you probably know (why has no one else reported this?) Track 14, listed as "The Silencers" is in reality the James Bond Theme.
Thanks again for all your hard work.
@ Richard
Are you sure?
I've got this burned to disc and never noticed throughout the compiling!
I'll check it later but it seems strange that its gone this long without being noticed.
Thanks for the kind words :)
Hi !
Sad that this file have been deleted from RapidShare :-( Do you plan to upload it again ?
Thanks for you great work !
Lana
What a great collection - it's helped me spend many a happy hour driving round Australia pretending I'm in a sixties spy film. Far better than reality! Once again thank you.
Thanks for the great feedback!
I'm glad everyone's enjoying these so much. I hope to eventually getting around to adding more volumes at some point :)
Happy Listening!

Sadly I think Rapidshare is no more.
I hope this valuable compilation album reaches as many music lovers as possible. My endless thanks to THXjay
