Back to another of my compilations for volume 7, this is my collection of Television themes from the Golden Age of British action/crime TV, the 1960's & early 1970's. Anyone out there not from the UK may not be familiar with a lot of these themes but don't let that put you off, this is a treasure trove of great music. It's a shame that a lot of the composers working in television don't get the recognition they deserve, there is a unique art in writing music able to set the mood & feel in a couple of minutes worth of music.
Slip on your shoulder holster, grab a tumbler of scotch and press play on your stereogram.
Britain's finest are contained within.

ALBUM COMPILATION & ARTWORK BY THXJAY

Hi THXJAY -
Really enjoyed this even though I'm unfamiliar with most of these shows. A lot of suprisingly funky tracks go really well with the more traditional sounding themes. (It's kind of a counterpart to the Thriller Jazz you have posted of the American crime dramas and movies.) Personal favorite right now is the first Danger Man theme. The unused Prisoner theme was a nice suprise too. Keep the compilations coming!

These compilations are awesome!
The individual tracked comps are easier to reference to the track lists, but I do appreciate all the effort in the mixed comps (great transitions, etc.).
Thanks for all the work.

Very cool podcast. Is there any way I can get a download of it?

Great collection. Wasn't familiar with a few of the themes, but most were familiar. The most enjoyable tracks were those that were for those Brit shows syndicated in the US when I was a kid and had not seen since. Man, the rush of memory was intense. Thanks for posting these.
I hope this valuable compilation album reaches as many music lovers as possible. My endless thanks to THXjay
