CRIME JAZZ : VOLUME 13

CRIME JAZZ : VOLUME 13 : ALAN TEW IN ACTION!

Here is another volume of my "In Action" series focusing on the cream of British composers.
This collection features the work of Alan Tew, surely one of the funkiest writers of the 70's. His work has been sampled by various artists over the years and many of the original vinyl library albums from which most of these were taken sell for obscene amounts of money.
Although he recorded albums from many genres, the tracks here are taken from mainly from the hard to find "Drama Suite" albums from the "Themes" library (an offshoot of KPM) and The Hanged Man television soundtrack, of which many tracks were used for other shows.

Tracklist:

01. The Rub
02. Blue Panther
03. The Build Up
04. The Burn
05. Contract Man
06. The Detectives (link 6b)
07. The Detectives (short)

Has anyone had trouble with part two of this collection? I've been unable to unzip the .rar file, and I'm wondering if it's just me. I haven't had trouble with any other file on this site.

Tim,

No-one else seems to have had any problems so it may be your end.

You need BOTH parts to get the file, if you've tried that, try downloading them again.

Thanks

This is BRILLIANT - thank you!

I was rather ignorant, having never heard of him before, but being a big music fan & collector of many different genres, I thought I'd give it a go.

Typically 70's style - big, bold & funky by in large. This compilation is clearly well thought out & now has me wanting to try & find some of his 'best' albums.

Recommendations of where to start out would be really appreciated. I assume 'The Hanged Man' is a must.

Cheers!!!
